SXCCAA Women's Forum organsied a make over workshop with Make Up Artist Megha Dixit Lakhotia on 10th of May at Credo Cafe . The workshop was well attended by members. Megha taught us the minute details if skin care and DIY make up for day and night both . It was an informative session with lots of queries answered and the members were extremely satisfied with the entire workshop.
On 18th April 2023, the Women's Forum of St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association organized a philanthropy program at Mahaveer Seva Sadan. The event started at 3 pm and had participation from 7 forum members.
During the event, we got an opportunity to visit different sections and witness the great work done by the organization. We visited the Cerebral Palsy section and saw _Sensory integration therapy_ , which aims to help children with sensory processing difficulties to regulate and organize their senses. We also witnessed Eye clinic and Motion therapy for hyperactive patients.
One of the most remarkable experiences of the event was witnessing the manufacturing process of artificial limbs. Members saw how the measurements were taken and how the mold was made, and finally, the process of making the final product. We also witnessed the working of artificial limbs and were amazed at how it helped patients to regain their mobility and independence.
It was wonderful to see that the artificial limbs were making a huge difference in the lives of patients who had lost their limbs. Four patients were donated artificial limbs by the forum, and the members were filled with joy on seeing the happiness on their faces. It was a pleasure for the forum to contribute to making the lives of these patients easier and more comfortable.
In conclusion, the philanthropy program organized by the Women's Forum of St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association at Mahaveer Seva Sadan was a huge success. The forum members got an opportunity to witness the great work done by the organization, and it was heartwarming to see the difference it made in their lives. The event was a great reminder of the importance of philanthropy and giving back to society.

SXCCAA Women's Forum members organised one of the biggest event of the year ... Women and Beyond, celebrating Women's Day. Program consisted of Panel discussion and felicitation of the unstoppable women like Ms. Monisha Pailan, acid attack survivor, Ms. Usha Uthup , eminent singer, Ms. Gargee Roychowdhury Actress, Ms. Raya Chatterjee renowned speaker. The program started with an amazing dance performance by renowned danseuse Ms. Jaya Seal Ghosh followed by a panel discussion of our guests. We heard some heart stirring stories about their lives and their journey.This was followed by a foot tapping performance by the legend Ms. Usha Uthup. It was an enthralling evening and the audience enjoyed thoroughly.
Report on Philanthropy Program by Women's Forum of St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association at Sisters of the Poor
On 15th February 2023, the Women's Forum of St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association organized a philanthropy program at Sisters of the Poor. The event was held to celebrate the birthdays of geriatric members born in February. This report outlines the program and its events.
The program began with a warm welcome speech by Sister Bernadette, the sister in charge, who welcomed the Principal of St. Xavier's College, President of SXCCAA, Rev. Fr. Dr. Dominic Savio sj, along with the Women's Forum members, with great love, respect, and gratitude.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Dominic Savio sj was invited to give a speech in which he expressed his gratitude for being among all the in-house members. He mentioned that the house holds a special place in his heart, and he would like to celebrate his birthday with them.
A cake was cut to celebrate the birthdays of all geriatric members born in February, along with a live musical program by our Forum member, Puja Agarwal. It was a delightful evening, and all the members present danced and sang songs along with some enthusiastic golden agers. Hot snacks and tea were served, which everyone relished.The program concluded with a vote of thanks by DarshitaTrivedi ,Convener of Women's Forum and the Mother Superior. Everybody left with a sense of fulfillment. The philanthropy program was a success and brought happiness and joy to all the members present.

SXCCAA Women's Forum members organised a fellowhip at The Bhawanipore Tea House . It is a heritage house turned into a cafe . An elaborate hi- tea was arranged with some fun games . The highlight was a lot of new members attending the same . All the members attended it with full energy. It was an enthralling evening over some delicious food and flavoured tea!

SXCCAA Women's Forum members organised a talk on Mind Miracles by Mrs. Shivani Agarwal. She is a life coach and wellness speaker who spoke about how our mind plays the catalyst in our lives. It was an eye opening session on how to condition our mind in a positive way. It was well attended by not only the members of forum but also our male alumni members and guests. It was an enthralling evening followed by hi-tea.
SXCCAA Women's Forum members organised a day out at the heritage Alipore Jail Museum on 16th December . The centuries old jail was recently converted into a beautiful museum telling us the brave stories of our freedom fighters. It was a nostalgic evening leaving everyone in thought of the struggles of our freedom fighters . The walk was followed by a coffee adda session in the cafeteria . The evening concludes with a beautiful light and sound show that transported us to the era where are brave leaders fought for our independence. It was an evening that was fun yet everyone took an emotional part of it too .
ANNUAL TEA MEET 2022
The much awaited event on the SXCCAA calendar of events -The Annual Tea meet 2022 was on the 13th November.
The women's forum with the blessings of God Almighty, the support of our President Fr Dominic Savio and our dynamic secretary Firdausal hasan Started preparations to the event more than a month back with several round of meetings to chalk out each and every details to make the event successful.
The activities were lined up with a melodious and rocking performance by "Sourendro and Soumyojit" who set the mood just right.
This was followed by a series of protocol felicitations and invitees on stage and we wrapped up the evening with the performance by tollywood artist Rituparna Sengupta.
After the programme in the auditorium, the crowd was led to the field which was blooming with activities and decorative lighting all around and stalls of Tea, mouth watering snacks, Juice and desserts. The main attraction was the Treasure Island which was adorned by gifts like the Gold and Silver Coins.
Members even won a lot of gifts at the live fun quiz. Mercy Hospital ,Yellow Straw ,Chai Break, All you Knead and Eduaims had set up their stalls beautifully across the field.
We are thrilled to share that because of our members initiative,this year too we have been able to raise fund which is quite encouraging for us. It is a matter of great pride for all of us and thanks to all advisors and conveners who worked tirelessly to make this event successful.

On 17th August, 2022, ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE (CALCUTTA) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV Celebrating 75years of Indian Independence as fellowship party at South City Mall. Members were present with dressed up in the tricolor theme. There was a best dressed competition and many more games were played and won by enthusiasts. It was a fun filled afternoon with great food. Members were given independence day badges and a tricolor cake was cut while all sang Desh Bhakti songs. Everyone left with fond memories and smiles in their faces.

On 5th August, 2022, ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE CALCUTTA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised a WORKSHOP ON ZEN GARDENING. The session started with potting plants with the right amount of soil, minerals and vermicompost. Mrs. Dolly Nagrecha, a well known landscapist tought us how to balance nutrition and water in the right proportion for the plants, different varieties of indoor plants and how to maintain them. Later we decorated our pots with pebbles and figures. It was a fun filled session in which all participating members made their own zen garden. All queries were answered by our green crusader. It was a very helpful and informative session, much appreciated by all present. The programme ended with tea and refreshments. Everybody left with a sense of satisfaction.

WORKSHOP AT IIHM Kolkata
On 4th July , 2022, ST.XAVIER"S COLLEGE CALCUTTA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised a workahop on Table decor,Summer mocktail making and Homemade pasta making at IIHM Kolkata. The workshop started at 3.30 and continued for two hours .
The programme started with the IIHM coordinator Ms. Sangeeta Chatterjee welcoming the guests introducing the IIHM faculty . The food and beverage team first explained the do's and don'ts of table setting and the perfect way of laying the table. Following that we were taught a mocktail 'Coconut Elixir' which was extremely delicious and easy to make. Following that we were taught home made pasta along with the sauces and fillings. The session was extremely interactive and interesting and lots of queries were answered. Mrs. Kavita Lohia gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Women's Forum. The programme ended with a High Tea and everybody left with a sense of satisfaction.

On 10th June, 2022, ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE (CALCUTTA) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised a ZUMBA SESSION at Real Yoga Studio. The session started with Bollywood zumba by Gaurav Sir . It was a fun filled session in which all participating members burned a lot of calories and had fun too.After an hour there was a Yoga Session with Kaushik Sir who taught us to relax and open up our joints. It was a very helpful and informative session, much appreciated by all present. The programme ended with a Bowl of protein rich salad and everybody left with a sense of satisfaction.

The programme started with our member Mrs . Ritu Buwaria welcoming the guests and the speaker Mrs. Kavita Lohia. She made the session extremely interactive and interesting with teaching one to one on how to make e-invites, posters and reels . It was a live ice- cream making session in which she taught ice-cream sandwich, ice-cream cake,Cornetto and choco bars.The workshop proved to be very helpful and informative and much appreciated by all present. SEMINAR ON "Fitness is the new fad" with Mr Ranadeep Moitra.
On 25th March 2022, ST.XAVIER"S COLLEGE CALCUTTA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised a seminar on "Fitness is the new fad " at Room No.15.The seminar started at 6pm and continued for two hours . Reverend Father Dominic Savio SJ, Principal , St. Xaviers College , Kolkata and Mr. Firdausul Hasan, the Secretary of St.Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association were present on the occasion along with the guest for the evening Mr. Ranadeep Moitra , the fitness guru .
The programme started with Emcee Kavita Lohia welcoming the guests. This was followed by an inspiring speech by Father Dominic Savio SJ. This was followed by Mr. Ranadeep Moitra taking over the podium . He made the session extremely interactive and interesting with loads of queries answered by him . He broke a lot of myths about workout, posture and diet . The session went on for almost an hour and could go on longer with the interest shown by the audience . The audience comprised of Alumni members , guests and students of the third year batch of SXC. Our member Mrs. Pallavi Bajaj gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Women's Forum. The programme ended with a High Tea and everybody left with a sense of satisfaction.
SXCCAA Women's Forum, on Women's Day, organised a Hygiene and Cotton Pads distribution camp at Swapnapuran, an NGO that works for the betterment of women. This was a physical camp in the premises of the NGO. The welcome address was given by Darshita Trivedi followed by a detail explanation of how to follow menstrual hygiene and the benefits of cotton pads by our member Pragya .. This was followed by distribution of cotton pads, bananas and biscuits to 50 ladies from the NGO. The Women's Forum conducted this camp with perfect team work and it was a proud moment for all the members present. Women's Forum thrives to do many more of these camps.
FELLOWSHIP
The 7th of february 2022 st Xavier's women forum had organised an offline fellowship at LMNO.. Q.. In park street. It was attended by more than 20 members and was a very successful event. It was a fun filled evening with snacks and beverages. It ended up with lots of excited games and gifts. Thanx to our advisor Sudeshna Roychowdhury, convenor Darshita Trivedi, and fellowship convenors Ritu Buvaria and Sanjukta Mehediratta.
WEBINAR
SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a virtual session on anxiety conducted by Dr. Sagar Dutt, a mentoring Psychologist and Pychotherapist. The welcome address was given by our member Kavita Lohia . Dr. Dutt explained the importance of postive affirmations and of not doubting ourselves to reach our goals . He explained how our thoughts ultimately create our reality . It was an enlightening and interesting seasion . The members participated actively in the session . The session concluded by a Vote of Thanks by Kavita Lohia.
WORKSHOP
SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a decoupage workshop conducted by Mrs. Ekta Rana . The welcome address was given by our member Ruchita Bajaj. Ekta taught the members decoupage on a bottle and coasters with a beautiful christmas theme . Each and every part was minutely taught and explained. The members eagerly tries their hands on the procedure making it a fun learning experience . The session concluded by a Vote of Thanks by Ruchita Bajaj followed by hi-tea arranged by our member Kavita Lohia.
ANNUAL TEA MEET 2021
The date , 12th November, 2021, most coveted day for the SXCCAA Women's Forum. As after a 2 year old haul due to Covid, the Annual Tea Meet was finally taking place . We all women members work passionately and tirelessly to make this event memorable and to cherish and treasure it.
Our preparations to the event started more than a month back with several round of meetings to chalk out each and every details to make the event successful. The activities were lined up with a melodious and rocking performance by "Wrong Chords" who set the mood just right. Next we had an Audio-Visual presentation showcasing the Raghavpur campus. After a warm welcome address by the Convener of the Women’s Forum by Mrs. Darshita Trivedi our President Rev. Fr. Dr. Dominic Savio, S.J. was called on stage and welcomed with a plant . The Father’s speech was very motivating and inspired us to take up Women’s Forum to a new greater heights along with a prayer by Father Rector.
One of the most important part of the evening was to invite two Women Achiever of the year on the stage. IAS officer Ms. Aparajita Rai and Educationalist Ms. Soma Guho were felicitated with Uttariyon, Memento and a plant.
Followed by inviting all GC members and Women’s Forum WC members on stage for pinning and a group photo session. The two main Sponsorers were also called on stage and duly felicitated. The charm of the evening was the performance by the famous dancer Mrs. Jaya Seal Ghosh whose awesome bharatnatyam performance mesmerized the entire audience. She was also felicitated by the Father President of SXCCAA with Memento and flowers along-with her husband, Xaverian and the famous percussionist Mr. Bikram Ghosh.
Mementos were also handed over to Tea-Meet Advisor and Conveners followed by Vote of Thanks.

Other Stall owners were also busy with their products namely Mercy Hospital ,Mahavir Danwar Jwellers ,Yellow straw ,Chai break,Trendz Boutique,Magic Artisan, Rachna Agarwal Boutique , Dolly Agarwal paper Art, Yoga Acharya,Bake & Bliss .Thanks to Tanima for taking care of sale of tickets to the Tea Meet. Members were seen praising success of the event while others were sipping hot tea and some others were busy taking selfie with the Father President and the women achievers.
We are thrilled and excited to share that this year too we have been able to raise some extra fund which is quite encouraging for us. It is a matter of great pride for all of us and thanks to all advisors and conveners who worked tirelessly to make this event successful.

After all the virtual meets , the members of the women's forum finally met in reality at one of th newly opened restaurants Wafira on the 20th of July..
All the chit chats and giggles were followed by lots of exciting games and prizes and the afternoon ended with a sumptuous lunch .
On 29th June 2021, SXCCAA women’s forum kolkata had a knowledgeable session with Mrs.Pallavi Bajaj.
Pallavi Bajaj, CEO Areve Finbux, She has been awarded among "Top ten women Entrepreneur in Financial Sector" by Bombay Stock Exchange in year 2019. It was a session on "Wealth creation for Women". It was an interactive session where basics of financial jargons and different wealth creation techniques been discussed and was really helpful.

On 8th June,2021 at 3 PM-A WhatsApp BOLLYWOOD QUIZ GAMEwas organised by our very own Gauri Bhatija for the Womens Forum.
The game was actively participated by our members. The enthusiasm was palpable .Although the gave was conducted virtually. The lucky three winners were thrilled to receive their prizes.

On 12th May, 2021, SXCCAA women’s forum kolkata organised a productive session with Devina Fogla. Devina has educated herself in the field of "Angel Therapy" in the year 2011 in London from Doreen Virtue and did "Heal Your Teacher Training" and "Life Coach" from Dr Patricia Crane in 2012 from London. It was a lively session which energised us to the core and connected us to our mind, body and soul.
Small but productive techniques were shared by her which can be used in our daily lives.

*VIRTUAL COOK ALONG
The pandemic has definitely made us do things we never otherwise thought we were capable to do.
On 27th APRIL, we organized a virtual cook along. Our Chef of the day was the convenor of Women's forum Sujata Rampuria who also runs a home catering brand-Pepperberris. Sujata curated the recepies keeping in mind the health factor and availability of ingredients easily and the best part was that most of the members cooked along virtually with her .In this grim situation, it was a fun event and the members bonded well.

After almost organizing a year full of virtual events , we decided to go offline for our Womens day event.
On 8th March, which is also celebrated as International Womens day, we at the womens forum celebrated our heroes.
A group of 20-25 women gathered at the St. Xavier's College Main Parlour to hear the success journey of our very own members- Vritti Khosla, Deepa Battoo, Renu Agarwal, Sanjukta Mehendiratta, Pooja Lakhotia and Tanima Ghosh. These women shared their journey of how they struggled with life and how they juggled between personal and professional commitments;needless to say they fulfilled both beautifully and they stand where they stand today. The event left our eyes Watery and hearts full of pride.
Saluting each women who can create wonders if she wishes to.

On 19th February, 2021 at 4pm, members of SXCCAA WOMEN'S FORUM had their first offline fellowship after a long time at Cosmopolitan Club, Kolkata. Almost 15 members was present on that day. Few games were organized with many prizes. It was a pleasant evening well spent together with mouth watering snacks and beverages.

FEBRUARY, 2021, at 4pm SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a virtual workshop on Google meet. Our speaker for the day was NEHA AGARWAL, from BLOSSOM DECORATIONS a craft designer. She trained us to how to make bow for gift wrapping and an explosion box, followed by an interactive session. Our members were very happy with our guest NEHA AGARWAL'S wonderful session.

VIRTUAL SEMINAR
2021, SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a virtual seminar on Zoom on Sujok therapy. Our speaker for the day was NAMRATA MIRCHANDANI, a Sujok therapist.
The word Sujok itself holds the meaning behind this miraculous science of healing from Korea - 'Su' meaning hands and 'Jok' meaning feet, signifying treatment of the entire body on one's hands and feet.
This highly effective Therapy is simple, logical and side-effect free,making it one of the best methods of self-help.
Namrata spoke about the benefits of sujok, how it helps to cure diseases, followed by an interactive session.Needless to say , our speaker left our members enlightened .

VIRTUAL SEMINAR On 14th December, 2020 at 4.30 pm SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a virtual seminar on Zoom. Our speaker for the day was Varda Goenka, the owner and designer for brand Diagold jewels. She educated us about how to take care of jewellery, criteria for choosing the gems, jewellery as an investment. This was followed by an interactive session.Mrs. Varda Goenka's session definitely left us enriched.

VIRTUAL SEMINAR On 23rd NOVEMBER, 2020 at 4 pm on zoom SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a virtual seminar. Our speaker Babita Kejriwal is a spiritual healer. She talked about various kinds of mental exercises, visualizations and teaching positivity and constructive thinking to all Womens Forum members on zoom. Our members were very happy with Mrs. Kejriwal's session. Mrs. Indira Agarwal welcomed the guest on behalf of Women's Forum. It was really a wonderful session.
Fellowship Meet - WHATSAPP HOUSIE
16th October 2020 4pm - A Whatsapp Housie was conducted by Rajat Baid for the Women's Forum.
The game was actively participated by about 32 members. The enthusiasm was palpable, although the game was conducted virtually. The lucky Eight Winners were thrilled to receive their prizes.
The success of the online fellowship Meet was very encouraging.
VIRTUAL FELLOWSHIP entire life and daily routine has become virtual..isnt it ?? The urge to meet up and spend time with fellow members of the womens forum resulted in planning our virtual fellowship.
On 7th Aug, members of the womens forum ganged up on zoom to participate in Bollywood quizzes and other fun games emceed by the city's eminent event planner Mrs. Bhavna Hemani.The Event was attended by several Forum members and the entire session was conducted very well. Members won lots of prizes which was couriered to them .Special thanks to Rev. Fr. Dr. Dominic Savio for blessing and supporting us.
Lockdown has taken a toll on everyone but I think still women are most occupied and busy.
Inspite of their busy schedules, the Women's Forum had conducted their monthly event for the month of April in 12th April on Zoom.
Our speaker was a graphologist from Jaipur who spoke about grapho therapy and how one can alter their personality traits by bringing small changes in their handwriting.
The event was well attended by members. A very special thanks to Rev Father Dominic Savio for Blessing us always and to dear Hasan da for always encouraging us and supporting us. Hasan da attended the session for a while and I must thank Jeetu Rampuria for helping us conduct the entire session very smoothly
On 12th March 2020, SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a seminar and interactive session with Ms. Namrata Arora on the topic of Tarot Card Reading. The seminar was held at Cafe 4/1. The members of the Women's Forum joined and participated enthusiastically and made the seminar a big success. Ms Arora spoke about the current year and the twelve Zodiac signs with the Tarot Cards. The seminar ended with a high-tea.

On 3th February, 2020, the members of the ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE (CALCUTTA) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM were educated by renowned nutritionists Sunita Kedia about the benefits of eating raw and going diary free. Starting off with a peaceful round of meditation , sunita gave us insights on how to nourish mind and body , which in turn nourishes our soul too.
Eating raw and Vegan food, which helps in overcoming a lot of diseases and is excellent for general well being, without medication.
Needless to say the interactive session was flooded with queries.
The programme ended with a High Tea and the members went back home nourished for sure!

Founder of Plants & Us, Nitika Agarwal educated the Forum Members on how to grow their own greens, general nutritional and health benefits of microgreens and how to use it for healthy food.There was a live demonstration of the growing process of these superfoods and all members took back a microgreen-growing kit. Members of the Women's Forum participated in the workshop in good numbers.The workshop ended with mouth watering snacks and tea from Ek Cutting Chai.
* Cooking Demonstration at HHI *
On the 26th of July, 2019, The Women's Forum of St. Xavier's College Alumni Association had organised a cooking demonstration at Hotel Hindustan International. The attendance was very good. Three different chefs taught us how to cook three different dishes. All the members enthusiastically interacted with the chefs. The chefs patiently answered all the questions put up by our members. The demonstration was followed by a food-tasting session. It was a nice and interactive session. The session ended with evening tea and snacks.
On 30th June, 2019 from 3.30PM, onwards SXCCAA WOMEN'S FORUM in association with CREDO organised a workshop on Aroma Therapy. Blossom Kocher's Aroma Magic on pigmentation and anti-ageing was the topic. Make-up artist Shree Ghatak along with Payel Majumdar and Ivy Mondol demonstrated elaborately the healing through aroma therapy, and aroma oil, how it works on pigmentation and anti-ageing. It was followed by an interactive session. The workshop proved to be very helpful and informative and much appreciated by all present. The programme ended with a High Tea..

On 10th May, 2019, SXCCAA Women's Forum organised a fellowship programme at THE MYX.
The evening was full of fun, prizes and many more. Members of the Women's Forum and guests enjoyed the food along with good music. It was an amazing evening ended with a lovely photo session.
On 23rd April, 2019, SXCCAA - WOMEN'S FORUM organised a workshop on an exclusive session on food presentations, and seasonal eating at Room No. 15. The workshop started at 4pm and continued for two hours. The programme started with emcee Mrs. Deepa Battoo welcoming the guests and introducing speaker Miss Abhilasha Chandak. An internationally recognized chef, she shared with us her expertise and experiences. She shared few recipes, talked about food preservation and presentation, and seasonal eating for healthy life in the workshop. It was followed by an interactive session. On 4th April, 2019, ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE (CALCUTTA) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised a workshop on "Flower arrangement and decoration" at Room No. 15. The workshop continued for 2 hours .The programme started with emcee Mrs. Neelima Jhunjhunwala welcoming the guests. Women's forum convener Mrs. Sujata Rampuria introduced speaker Mrs. Mita Kanoria, an internationally recognized senior floral artist and she shared with us about her expertise and experiences. She shared few amazing floral decoration in the workshop. It was followed by an interactive session. The workshop proved to be very helpful and informative and much appreciated by all present. * Philanthrophy Day *
The members of SXCCAA Women's Forum visited the Mahavir Seva Sadan on February 17, 2019. It is a pioneer institute in providing artificial limbs to physically challenged people free of cost, life long. It has helped over 2 lakh physically challanged people to change their lives from despondency to regain mobility to confidence to become winners in life. We were taken to each department of the institute and were briefed about the process and working of this institute. Under one roof, it provides facilities of free artificial limbs unit, physiotheraphy department, diagonistic center, homeophathy clinic, celebral palsy unit for children, polio correction, eye care unit and vocational training center. Women's Forum extended a help of Rs.10,000/- for this nobel cause to this institute. It will help someone handicapped to get his/her limbs. It was a heart warming experience.

On 18th January, 2019, SXCCAA Womens Forum organised a fellowship programme at THE SALT HOUSE.
A winter setting Friday evening on an open terrace, hot pipping coffee and yummy food was a perfect way to start the New Year.
The evening was full of laughter and jokes, fun games, and many more. Along with all the fun, some discussions were also held on the philanthropic activities of the Forum.
The evening ended on a sweet note with future plans and activities on the to-do list.
* SEMINAR ON "PRESENT AND FUTURE OF DIGITAL WORLD AND CHARMS AND CHALLENGES OF JOURNALISM" *
On 11th January, 2019, ST.XAVIER"S COLLEGE CALCUTTA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM organised a seminar on "Present and Future of Digital World and Charms and Challenges of Journalism" at Room No.15.The seminar started at 2:30 pm and continued for one hour. Professor Bertram D'silva, Acting Principal of St.Xavier's College (Autonomous) Kolkata, Ms. Rebecca Skippage, Senior Editor of the BBC News, Mr. Sanjeeb Konar, Hony. Secretary of St.Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association and Mr. Firdausul Hasan, the Immediate Past Secretary of St.Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association were present on the occasion.
The programme started with Emcee Sanjukta Mahendiratta welcoming the guests. This was followed by an inspiring speech by Professor Bertram D'silva. Next Abhilasha Chandak gave an introduction of Ms. Rebecca Skippage. After the introduction, Ms. Rebecca Skippage gave a very lucid and interesting speech on the day's topic. She spoke about how digitization has facilitated direct two-way communication. She spoke about Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and other platforms that are now making news to reach people instantly. She mentioned about global disinformation team and fake news platforms. She focussed on technicalities as to how BBC cross-checks and verifies news. She also discussed journalism and it's charms and challenges. She spoke about diversity at BBC and role played by women in journalism. She ended her Talk Show with an interactive session where she answered questions posed by students, Women's Forum members and the Alumni. The seminar proved to be very helpful and informative and much appreciated by all present. Ruchi Chandak gave vote of thanks on behalf of the Women's Forum. * TEA MEET 2018 REPORT *
Like every year, the calendar year of SXCCAA starts off with the annual tea meet.
The meet this year was on 8th December 2018,spearheaded by the womens forum.
A group of four young xaverian boys stormed the stage and entertained the 300 plus audience with their musical performance and none other than the very popular and our very own xaverian Ms.Devlina Kumar and her troupe left the audience mesmerized with their dance performance.
The association got the opportunity to felicitate the Table tennis player from Bengal -Ms Mouma Das.
Ms Das is a commonwealth gold winner and arjuna awarded.
The women's forum is indebted to Father Dominic savio for all his motivation , inspiration and blessings.
All members present went back home with bags full of gifts and hearts full of joy and of course stomach full of tasty snacks.
The joint convenors this year ms Ritu bhuvaria and ms Purnima bothra worked tirelessly .
The tea meet was a perfect Saturday winter evening.

The Women's Forum of SXCAA enjoyed a Fellowship lunch on 28.8.18 at THE FACTORY OUTLET at 22 Camac Street. 17 members met at 12.30 pm to enjoy an afternoon of good food and conversation. The music food and ambience was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and look forward to more such occassions

* Mobile Technology *
On 26th June, 2018, St. Xavier’s College (Calcutta) Alumni Association Women’s Forum organised a workshop on “Mobile Technology” at Room No. 15. The workshop started at 4.30pm and continued for two hours. Emcee Mrs. Minu Agarwal started the proceedings with a welcome speech.
The noted young Sitar player Kalyan Majumdar, who incidentally is also a web developer, application developer and an Ex-Xaverian, conducted the workshop. He demonstrated the various uses of Mobile Apps such as PayTM, Instagram, Modern GPS Technology, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. He also explained how to create invites, how to save phone storage space and how to reduce phone battery consumption. This was followed by an interactive session. The workshop proved to be very helpful and informative and much appreciated by all present. Mrs. Minu Agarwal gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Women’s Forum. The programme ended with a High Tea and everybody left with a sense of satisfaction.

On 4th May, 2018 at 2.30pm, 3 members from the St. Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association Women's Forum visited the Nari Seva Sangh situated near the Jodhpur Park Post Office. Nari Seva Sangh is engaged in helping the needy and deprived women from all sections of the society. They provide them training in the fields of embroidery, block prints of sarees and bags, kantha-making, bandhni and batik, making hats and linen items, handloom weaving and making jam and juices, so that these women can make their independent career. The organisation also has a free primary school for kids upto class 4. The Women's Forum members visited the triaining centre and interacted with the ladies of the Sangh and saw their various activities. As a part of philanthropic activity, an amount of Rs. 6000/- was donated on behalf of the Women's Forum to a needy woman, Rumki, for her career development. Overall it was a very enriching and satisfying experience for the members of the Women's Forum who visited on the occasion.

On 3rd May, 2018, St. Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association Women's Forum organised a Fellowship programme at the iconic Hard Rock Cafe from 12.30pm onwards. The decoration was amazing. Guitars and outfits worn by legends like Madonna adorned the walls. The music was peppy and added to the lively atmosphere. The food was yummy while the brownie and ice-cream was the icing on the cake. The ladies of the Women's Forum got a chance to discuss the various activities of the Forum. The afternoon ended with a photo session and the members left happy and truly satisfied.
* CREDO Orbis *
On 26th April, 2018 at 11.30AM, CREDO Orbis along with Troyee Foundation, organised a free workshop on Makeup Art, Jewellery Making and Bakery, at the Office of CREDO Orbis, 175, Block G, New Alipore, Kolkata - 700053. St. Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association Women's Forum Members were invited to participate in a micro training programme on self grooming. Members from the Women's Forum participated in the workshop. The workshop was conducted by the celebrity make-up artist, Shree Ghatak. LGBTQ community members also participated in the Workshop as CREDO believes in national integration of the masses. The event was covered by Doordarshan.

On 4th April, 2018, *ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE (CALCUTTA) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM* organised a workshop on *"Person ality Development and Fitness through Posture Awareness"* at Room No. 15. The workshop started at 5pm and continued for two hours. Rev. Fr. Dominic Savio, SJ, Rector and Principal, St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata and President, SXCCAA, Mr. Sanjib Koner, Hony. Secretary, SXCCAA were present on the occasion. Mr. Firdausul Hasan was present to support us. The programme started with emcee Mrs. Darshita Trivedi welcoming the guests. This was followed by an inspiring speech by Father. After the speech, the workshop began. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Preeti Kothari. She expressed how good and proper postures can heal pain without having to take medicine. She demonstrated correct postures for sitting, standing, walking and sleeping and also showed some effective shoulder, neck and back exercises. This was followed by an interactive session. The workshop proved to be very helpful and informative and much appreciated by all present. Mrs. Ritu Buvaria gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Women's Forum. * SXUK Visit *
On 19th of February, 2018, Monday a team of 15 members from ST. XAVIERS COLLEGE CALCUTTA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN'S FORUM visited the ST. XAVIER"S UNIVERSITY at Newtown, Rajarhat at 10am. Mr. G.P. Gupta welcomed the members and showed them the various portions of the University building. At first the members of the Women's Forum met the Vice-Chancellor Rev. Father Dr. J. Felix Raj at his office. Next the members went to the Hall of fame having the statue of St. Francis Xaviers which was followed by their visit to the next Hall of fame having the statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Rev.Father Dr. J. Felix Raj was present at both the Halls with the members. The women's forum members then proceeded to see the classrooms. There are three types of classrooms - amphitheatre type, gallery type and general type, libraries, computer laboratories, faculty rooms, reading rooms and various other place of campus. After seeing the University campus, the women's forum members attended the BHASADIBASH programme. The programme was followed by a High-tea arranged by University. Rev. Father Dr. J. Felix Raj was himself present at the Programme and the High-tea. The members of the Women's Forum left the University campus at 1pm after the thoroughly enjoyable and memorable visit.
* Interactive Session on Union Budget 2018 *
On the 7th of feb 2018 Wednesday The Women's forum of SXCAA had an interactive session on the Union Budget 2018 with Sireesha kadayala,who is an active member of Millennium mam's and very informed and knowledgeable in the field of investment.In attendance were the members of the women's forum.
The session started with Purnima Bothra welcoming our speaker Sireesha Kadayala. She gave us a brief outline of the different components of the Union Budget and its effect on our lives.Gold bonds ,equity and the pros and cons of the different assets classes were other topics which we discussed.All the members enthusiastically participated in the discussion.It was a very empowering and rewarding experience for us.Refreshments were served.And the session ended with Purnima Bothra giving the vote of thanks on behalf of the women's forum.
* Fellowship Programme *
The Women's Forum of SXCAA started the new year with Fellowship celebration at Ozora on 11th January 2018 at 5 pm. The ladies enjoyed the cold weather amidst the spectacular view of the kolkata landscape from the 20th floor terrace at Acropolis. The cold wind blew away the stress and worries of life..as the warmth of friendship and togetherness enveloped us. The rocking music made us put on our dancing shoes...while the exotic mocktails added to the fun. The crunchy pizza and spicy starters had us asking for more!
We could not have asked for a better start to the year as we renewed our commitment to SXCAA and each other.
* Workshop at Papilio Clinic *
On 7th December, 2017 ST. XAVIER’S COLLEGE CALCUTTA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION WOMEN’S FORUM organised a workshop on “Hormonal Changes Post Age 40 of Women” at Papilio Clinic, Acropolis Mall. The workshop went on for two hours from 3 pm to 5 pm. Dr. Smita Gutgutia and Dr. Queen Aditya discussed the symptoms of various stages of hormonal changes of a woman after the age of 40 and also discussed the medical care required during such stages. Counsellor Deepa Shah Chaki discussed various lifestyle therapies that may be effective during such stages of hormonal changes. Next nutritionist Agnimitra Chatterjee gave suggestions about food habits and diet that would be effective during such phases of a women. Lastly yoga therapist Manisha demonstrated few yoga-mudras that would be beneficial to keep the body healthy during such period. The members of the Women’s Forum participated in the workshop which turned out to be highly successful. Darshita Trivedi on behalf of Women’s Forum gave the vote of thanks on the occasion.
* Annual Tea Meet 2017 *
The first event of SXCCAA for this year was the Tea Meet held on 10th Nov, '17. In continuation of the tradition the event was organised by the SXCCAA Women’s forum. It was a packed auditorium with 300+ xaverians and their family members .
After the welcome speech by Ms Sujata Rampuria, the convenor of the women’s forum, there was a sitar recital by Kalyan Majumdar. A brilliant rendition on Raag “Desh” left us mesmerised.
The next programme was the felicitation and welcome of our new principal and president of our college Father Dominic Savio. Ms Sudeshna Roychowdhury welcomed him with a flower bouquet. Our Secretary, Mr.Sanjib Koner and our immediate past secretary, Mr.Firdausal Hasan felicitated him. Father Dominic Savio gave an inspirational and memorable speech.
The newly elected secretary Mr. Sanjib Koner and members of our governing council were also felicitated.
It was for the first time that an Executive committee of the Women’s Forum had been formed where some members were given badges.
This was followed by the induction of new life members to the xaverian fraternity. Badges were given by father himself.
Our title sponsors Blue chip and Mr. Faisal were also presented a memento. The convenors were given a token of appreciation by Father. It was followed by a dance recital by the members of the women’s forum. Based on women empowerment, the performance received a tremendous applause.
The vote of thanks was presented by Sudha Sureka on behalf of women’s forum . In the end there was a fun quiz by Ms Vritti Khosla. The treasure island game kept the members and children engaged.
Adding to this “newness” was also bringing back nostalgia of the venue returning back to the auditorium. The members enjoyed the delicious snacks arranged at the quadrangle which seemed to have changed to a “fair” like place It was one of the memorable and historic tea meets.
